What the classes are

Most classes at mojo.studios.clapham are reformer Pilates, and about a third are marked as strong. The studio offers a range of styles, from Classical Reformer Pilates, which is carefully created to focus on precision and control, to Dynamic Reformer, which moves at a high to medium pace with rhythm and upbeat tunes. Strength X Reformer combines the principles of Pilates with body bars, plank bars and free weights in a flowing routine.

The studio also runs a 45-minute Express version of its signature reformer class, designed for a quicker, punchier session. A few classes focus specifically on the core and pelvic floor.

When and how classes run

Most of the timetable runs in the morning, and more than half of classes start before midday. The busiest start times are noon, 10am, 9am and 7:30pm, and Friday, Saturday and Wednesday are the busiest days. Around a fifth of classes start before 9am, and roughly the same share fall in the evening and at weekends.

Most classes run for 60 minutes, with the shorter Express and Strength X sessions at 45 minutes. The studio's team of about ten facilitators includes Cheryl Spain, Jessica Blake, Sophia Pusey, Camilla Curran, Tetyana Samsonova, Paulina Rzepka, Bella Morris and Lorraine Roberts, who lead the most classes.

Mojo.studios.clapham: questions and answers

When do most people practice at mojo.studios.clapham?

Most of the day is spread across the morning, with more than half of classes starting before midday. The earliest class starts at 6:30am and the latest at 7:30pm. Noon, 10am, 9am and 7:30pm are the start times that come up most often, and Friday, Saturday and Wednesday are the busiest days.

What is the difference between the Dynamic and Classical reformer classes?

Yes. Dynamic Reformer Pilates runs at a high to medium pace with upbeat music and a rhythm that keeps you moving. Classical Reformer Pilates is quieter and focuses on precision, control and postural alignment. Both run for 60 minutes, so you can choose the one that matches how you like to work.

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes. The studio has classes marked for all levels, and a share of classes are pitched at experienced students. The Express 45 Minute Reformer Pilates class is a shorter, faster version of the signature class, and Strength X Reformer adds body bars, plank bars and free weights to a reformer routine.

What kinds of Pilates classes are there?

Reformer Pilates is the core of the timetable, and a share of classes add a strength element through Strength X Reformer. Many classes are marked as strong, and a few focus specifically on the core and pelvic floor. The Express class is a good option when you have less time.
