What the classes are
The collection is built around strong classes, and nearly every one carries that label. Pilates is the most common practice, with reformer work and core and pelvic floor training each appearing in about a third of classes. Strength also runs through the schedule, and a smaller group of yoga, power yoga and vinyasa classes adds a different rhythm.
Classes usually run for about 50 minutes, though some are shorter or longer. Mat Pilates at Swell Yoga Studio is described as a series of controlled body weight exercises that build strength, coordination and balance, and it suits all levels.
When and where they run
The earliest class starts at 5am and the latest at 7:10am. Most start between 6am and 7:10am, and Monday, Wednesday and Friday are the busiest days. Weekend classes are rare, with about one in ten falling outside the week.
The classes are spread across about ten studios, most of them in Margaret River. A couple of dozen facilitators lead them, and Aleisha, Mairi, Makenzie Gillett and Emily Udiljak teach the most.
