About Studio numi | Westend |Geburtshaus München

Studio numi in Westend is one of several rooms run by the same team in Munich, set up for yoga and related practice across the life stages of pregnancy, birth and early family life. The classes here are mostly gentle, focused on the core, the pelvic floor and the back, and most of them are held in the morning. Some of the offer is shaped around a birth house setting, with prenatal and postnatal work that fits around the rhythm of a body in transition.

It suits you if

  • you are pregnant or recovering after birth
  • you want gentle work for the core and pelvic floor
  • mornings are the time you can practice

What the practice here looks like

Studio numi Westend is part of the Geburtshaus München, and its classes reflect that setting. Prenatal yoga, including classes on a happy pelvic floor during pregnancy, is one of the largest groups on the timetable. Postnatal and mother-and-baby classes such as rückbildungsyoga mit Baby follow the body through the months after birth.

The rest of the offer is gentler yoga that works on the back, the hips and breathing. Classes are typically 60 minutes long, which leaves room for a slow warm-up and a full rest at the end.

The shape of the week

Most classes start in the morning, and the busiest start times are 9:30am and 10:45am. Early evening classes start as late as 6pm, and a fifth of the timetable falls in that window. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday carry more classes than the rest of the week.

The studio keeps a small team of facilitators. Rita Nefzger, Milena Schmitt Gavranidou and Miriam Eppinger lead the most classes, and the lineup is steady across the mornings and the evenings.

Studio numi | Westend |Geburtshaus München: questions and answers

When do most people practice here?

Most classes at this studio start in the morning, with the busiest start times at 9:30am and 10:45am. A smaller share of classes runs in the evening, with the latest start at 6pm. There are no midday, weekend or before-9am classes listed in this set.

Are there classes for pregnancy and after birth?

Yes. Prenatal yoga makes up more than half of what is offered, and postnatal and mother-and-baby classes are a steady part of the timetable. The studio also offers yoga for babys, kids and teens elsewhere in its list, so a family can practice in more than one stage of life.

What kind of yoga is taught here?

The classes at this studio are mostly gentle and focused on the core, the pelvic floor and the back. Many also work through the hips, and a fifth or so include breathwork or a calm feeling. A newcomer can start with one of the gentler yoga classes and see how the pace suits the body.

How long are the classes, and who leads them?

Classes usually run 60 minutes. Facilitators Rita Nefzger, Milena Schmitt Gavranidou and Miriam Eppinger lead the most classes in this set, and the studio works with a handful of facilitators in total.
