Reformer at every level

Palma Pilates is built around reformer Pilates, and nearly all of its classes sit in that style. Most are open level, which means the facilitator adjusts movements up or down depending on who is in the room. For people who have never used a reformer, Sea Breeze: Intro to Reformer breaks down the equipment step by step.

Above that sits Heat Wave and Tropical Storm, which are advanced reformer classes for people with experience. Tropical Storm adds the jumpboard for more cardio and height. Both require prior experience and are not for pre or postnatal clients.

The shape of the week

The studio runs a steady week with roughly half of its classes in the morning. Start times cluster around 8am, 9am and 7am, with a second peak at 1pm. Evenings and weekends each make up about a fifth of the schedule, and the latest class starts at 7pm.

For something quieter, Swaying Palm is a mobility and restorative reformer class aimed at stretching and lengthening, and Sea Sounds @ High Tide adds the sound of a crystal bowl to a core-focused session.

Palma Pilates: questions and answers

Is Palma Pilates good for complete beginners?

Most classes at Palma Pilates are reformer Pilates, and the studio offers a range of levels. Open level classes are the most common and suit people who already know the basics. Sea Breeze: Intro to Reformer is built for people who have never been on a reformer, and the studio recommends taking two of these before moving on to High Tide.
