What the classes are

The studio leans clearly toward pilates. Nearly every class is described as strong and centered on the core and pelvic floor, and a little under a third include a strength element. Mat pilates forms the backbone of the timetable, with beginner mat pilates available for those starting out.

The studio also offers a small number of yoga and flow classes, among them Yoga with Leigh and Spicy Yoga Flow with Riss. These sit alongside the pilates work rather than replacing it, and the sculpt classes with Destinee add another strength-focused option.

How the week runs

The week is built around the morning. Most classes start before midday, and about a third begin before 9am, with 7:30am and 9am among the most common start times. Later in the day, the busiest starts are at 4:30pm and 6:30pm, and the latest class begins at 6:30pm. There are no midday classes, which leaves a clear gap between the morning and the late afternoon.

Weekends are a smaller part of the schedule, and Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are the days when the studio fills most often. Most classes run around 50 minutes, so a session fits easily into a lunch break or before the day begins.

Ember Pilates: questions and answers

What kind of classes does Ember Pilates teach?

Most classes on the schedule are pilates, and nearly all of them are described as strong and focused on the core and pelvic floor. Mat pilates is the most common format, with reformer and strength-based pilates appearing alongside it. A handful of yoga and flow classes, including sessions with Leigh and Riss, are also on offer.

Is Ember Pilates a good place to start if I am new to pilates?

Beginner mat pilates is listed, and about one in ten classes is marked as a first class ever. The core and pelvic floor focus runs through most of the schedule, so a first visit can start with the beginner format before moving on to the stronger sessions.

When do most people practice at Ember Pilates?

Most classes start in the morning, and roughly a third begin before 9am. Evening classes make up about one in ten of the schedule, and there are no midday classes. The busiest start times are 7:30am, 9am, 4:30pm and 6:30pm.

How long are the classes at Ember Pilates?

Classes usually run about 50 minutes, with a few yoga and flow sessions running 60 minutes. Weekends are a smaller part of the week, at about a fifth of classes.

Who teaches at Ember Pilates?

Marissa, Amara, Caroline and Destinee lead the most classes here. Destinee teaches sculpt and Leigh and Riss lead the yoga and flow sessions, so the schedule offers a range of styles and voices.
