What the classes are

Pilates is the center of the studio. Most of the classes are Pilates, and reformer makes up most of that. Reformer Sculpt & Tone adds resistance to the reformer and targets the major muscle groups, while Power Jump Reformer adds a jumpboard for heart rate. Corso Reformer Full-Body is a steady all-levels class that moves through the whole body.

For mat work, Corso Mat Pilates Strength is unheated and built around resistance and control. The heated options, Corso Hot Mat Pilates Burn and Hot HIIT Pilates Burn, are faster and harder, with waves of dynamic movement.

Who leads and where to begin

The studio has a couple of dozen facilitators. Michelle Deda, Eleanor Van Veen, Anna Kroczak, Ghazal Bina and Juhi Sharma lead the most classes, and Laura Guerrero, Rania G., Lisa Antoszek, Carla Interior and Aranza Carrion teach regularly as well.

Most classes are taught in English and levels are marked clearly on each class, from beginners through all-levels to intermediate and advanced. For a first visit, Corso Reformer Foundations is the class to take before the reformer classes.

Corso Movement: questions and answers

What kinds of classes does corso movement offer?

Most of the classes are Pilates, with reformer Pilates making up most of the schedule. Mat Pilates, heated classes and a few yoga classes, including yin and vinyasa, fill out the rest.

Is corso movement a good place to start if I am new to pilates?

Corso Reformer Foundations is the class the studio points newcomers toward. It breaks down core principles and how to use the equipment. Several of the reformer classes ask you to start with a foundations class first, so a beginner can build up from there.

When do most people practice at corso movement?

Most of the classes run 50 minutes, with yin and vinyasa running 60. Classes start as early as 6am, and the busiest start times are 6:30pm, noon, 5:30pm and 7am. Evenings and mornings hold most of the timetable, and about a third of the classes fall on weekends.

Which days are the busiest at corso movement?

Thursday, Wednesday and Saturday have the most classes. The later starts run until 7:30pm.

Where is corso movement located?

Most of the classes are taught in the studio on St Clair Avenue West in Corso Italia-Davenport. The studio has a handful of locations across the city, so check the address on the booking page before you go.

Does corso movement have heated classes?

Yes. Several classes are heated, including Corso Hot Mat Pilates Burn, Hot HIIT Pilates Burn and the vinyasa flow, which is designed to build strength and flexibility. Hot HIIT and Mat Burn are the most intense options on the schedule.
