What the practice looks like

Hatha yoga is at the center of the timetable, and most classes are open to all levels. A typical session runs about an hour, and the studio's longer and shorter offerings fill out the day, from a 30-minute lunchbreak practice to a 75-minute hatha class.

Alongside the hatha sessions, the studio teaches yin yoga, with its long, supported holds, and yoga nidra, a guided practice that leads you between waking and sleep. Breathwork, meditation and pranayama are also on offer for those who want to focus on the breath.

Classes for every stage of life

Cozy yoga has classes for the different stages of pregnancy and early parenthood. The prenatal sessions combine movement with breath work, and the mama and me class is kept small so parents and babies can practice together. A teen class speaks to young people navigating school pressure and stress.

The studio's facilitator Nicole leads a large share of the classes, which gives the timetable a clear through-line. Classes are taught in German.

Cozy Yoga: questions and answers

Is cozy yoga good for beginners?

Yes. Hatha yoga suited to all levels is one of the regular offerings, along with a gentle morning flow, so beginners and returning students both have a place to start. A beginner course for first-timers also runs over several sessions, which gives time to find your footing.

Are there classes for pregnant women and new parents?

Cozy yoga offers prenatal classes, including sessions built around movement and lightness and others focused on strength, rest and stability. There is also a mama and me class where parents practice with their baby in a group of no more than five, and a postnatal option.

When do most people practice at cozy yoga?

Most classes are held in the evening, and the busiest start times fall at 5pm, 9:45am, 8:30am and 10:15am. Midday options such as a 30-minute lunchbreak hatha class are also available, and the earliest start is 8:30am while the latest is 8pm.

Does cozy yoga offer restorative or calming classes?

Yes. Alongside hatha and yoga, the studio offers yin yoga, which is a slower, passive style with props, as well as yoga nidra, a guided deep relaxation practice. Breathwork, meditation and pranayama appear in the schedule too, so there are quieter options for winding down.
