ALL LEVELS. Discover how simple Yoga practices can support brain health, challenge your balance, sharpen your awareness of your body in space, and help your nervous system find greater ease. Explore how working with your brain can open new possibilities for movement, strength, flexibility, and managing chronic pain. Our brains are constantly learning and adapting, and the way we move, pay attention, and engage with the world can influence how well they function throughout our lives. Yoga offers us a wonderful opportunity to explore this relationship. Through movement, balance, breath, and focused attention, we can challenge the brain, support neuroplasticity, and develop a better understanding of how our nervous system influences everything from memory and coordination to strength, flexibility, and our experience of pain. Join Letitia for a workshop that brings together Yoga and contemporary neuroscience to explore practical ways to support long-term brain health, reduce risk factors associated with cognitive decline, improve balance and body awareness, and work with your nervous system to move with greater confidence and ease. You'll leave with a better understanding of how your brain influences your body, along with simple practices you can incorporate into your daily life. WORKSHOP OVERVIEW In this workshop, you’ll learn: • Basic anatomy of the brain and nervous system, and how they influence movement, balance, and perception. • Yoga practices and lifestyle strategies that support cognitive health and may help reduce the risk of dementia. • Movement and balance challenges that develop proprioception (your awareness of where your body is in space) and engage the vestibular system (your sense of balance and orientation). • Simple exercises involving the cranial nerves and how these systems can influence range of motion, movement, and our experience of pain. PREREQUISITES No yoga experience required! This workshop is open to ALL, and is especially recommended for an
