How the weekend mornings run

Weekend mornings in the Berkshires begin as early as 7am and most classes start between 8am and 10am. Classes on Saturday and Sunday make up nearly all of this collection, and the busiest start times fall around 9am and 9:30am. Most sessions last about 50 minutes, with some stretching to an hour or more.

The mix is broad. Yoga is the most common practice, followed by Pilates, core and pelvic floor work, reformer, hot yoga and sweat-focused classes. Barre, vinyasa and power yoga appear too, along with gentler options like Mindful Flow and Relax & Clear.

The facilitators are many. Mia, Julia R, Nora Fenner, Ilana Singer Siegal and Julianna DellaPorta are among those teaching the most classes in this collection.

Are these classes good for beginners?

Yes. Classes here include all-levels yoga and a first class ever option, so a newcomer can begin without prior practice. Mindful Flow at Berkshire Yoga Dance & Fitness is described as gentle to moderate in pace and links breath with movement.

What kinds of classes are on offer on weekend mornings?

Yoga leads the mix, with Pilates, core and pelvic floor work, reformer, hot yoga and sweat-focused classes close behind. You will also find barre, vinyasa, power yoga, breathwork and sound bath classes.

How long are the classes?

Most classes run between 45 and 60 minutes, and 50 minutes is the typical length. A few longer sessions, like the 90-minute Bikram Beginner's Yoga at Saratoga Sweat, are also available.

Which studios should I look at first?

Studio 4, JETSET Pilates Latham and Berkshire Yoga Dance & Fitness in Pittsfield have some of the most classes in this collection. Great Barrington is also a neighborhood where many of these mornings take place, at LifeWorks Studio and The Pilates Space.
