What the Friday classes feel like

The collection leans heavily toward Pilates, which makes up most of the Friday classes. Reformer work comes up often, and the ONA STUDIO sessions in Cinq Cantons, such as the dynamic reformer class and the sculpt class, are both 55 minutes long.

Strong and strength-focused classes make up a good part of the list as well. They tend to suit people who want a firm, energetic session before the weekend rather than a slow wind-down.

Fitting it around the working week

The evening is the heart of this collection. Most start between 5pm and 7:30pm, with the busiest times at 6pm, 6:30pm and 7:30pm, so a class can fit neatly between finishing work and dinner.

The studios are spread across Cinq Cantons, Anglet, Seignosse and the Biarritz centre. Choosing one close to your route home keeps the evening simple, and about half of the classes can be booked with a pass such as Wellpass or ClassPass.

Friday release: questions and answers

When do Friday release classes start?

Most of the Friday release classes in Biarritz start between 5pm and 7:30pm, which suits people finishing work. The busiest start times are 5pm, 6pm, 6:30pm and 7:30pm, and nearly all of the classes fall in the evening.

What kinds of classes are on a Friday evening in Biarritz?

Pilates leads the collection, and most classes are some form of it. Reformer appears in about a fifth of the classes, and strength work in a similar share. About half are described as strong.

Where can I try reformer Pilates on a Friday?

Yes. ONA STUDIO in Cinq Cantons offers reformer and Pilates sculpt classes of 55 minutes. L'atelier Pilates in Anglet has a Pilates I/II class that moves from level one exercises into more intense intermediate work, in 60 minutes.

Which studios host the Friday release classes?

The classes are spread across a handful of studios: ONA STUDIO in Cinq Cantons, L'atelier Pilates in Anglet, MANA YOGA CENTER in Seignosse, and Yogamar Biarritz in the Biarritz centre. A few facilitators, including Anais Hryhorenko, Delphine, Lukas and Antoine Pommet, lead most of the sessions.

Can I use a pass for Friday classes?

About half of the Friday classes can be booked with Wellpass or ClassPass. The rest are booked directly with the studio, so it is worth checking each class before you plan the evening.

How long are the Friday evening classes?

Most classes last around 55 minutes, which leaves time to get across town before a weekend. Some run longer, such as the 90 minute Force Organique at MANA YOGA CENTER, which is built around floor work rather than equipment.
