A hot practice with a slower side

The heart of the studio is hot yoga. Hot Power Vinyasa and Hot Slow Power Vinyasa are the core classes, both 60 minutes, and the heat is what gives the practice its character. Power yoga and vinyasa appear across most of the timetable, so the rhythm of the studio is steady and sweaty.

Alongside the vigorous classes there is a clear counterweight. Yin, Slow Flow to Yin and Yin + Reiki offer long, quiet holds, and restorative sessions keep the pace low. Hot Power Pilates and the strength classes, Hot Sculpt + Strength and Hot Sculpt + Strength Express, bring a more focused, muscle-working side to the schedule.

How the week runs

The studio's day begins early. More than half of the classes are in the morning, and the first starts come at 6am, with busy slots around 7:30am, 9am and 10:30am. Evenings are quieter but still present, with a cluster of classes around 6pm and the last starts at 7:30pm.

Weekends make up about a fifth of the schedule. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are the busiest days. Most classes run 60 minutes, and the shorter 45-minute Express formats fit into a lunch break or a tight morning.

Aura Hot Yoga Studio: questions and answers

Where is Aura Hot Yoga Studio?

Aura Hot Yoga Studio is at 85 South Main Street Unit 2 in Newton, just outside Boston. Its classes are heated, so most of the week is spent in warm rooms, and the studio runs a handful of hours across the morning, midday and evening.

What kind of classes does Aura offer?

Most classes are hot yoga, and most of the week is built around vinyasa and power yoga. Yin, restorative and Pilates classes sit alongside them, along with a few strength and core sessions such as Hot Sculpt + Strength.

When do most people practice at Aura?

Most of the schedule starts in the morning, and more than half of the classes begin before noon. Classes start as early as 6am and run as late as 7:30pm, with the busiest start times around 9am, 10:30am, 7:30am and 6pm.
