The Yoga Edge sits on Church Road in Crystal Palace, a small studio that puts yoga at the center of its week. Most of the timetable is yoga, from energising flows and hip openers to slow Yin and restorative sessions, with Pilates and strength work alongside. Mornings carry much of the schedule, and a steady run of evening classes follows after work.
It suits you if

A yoga-led timetable
Most of what happens at The Yoga Edge is yoga, and the studio offers a clear range within it. Yoga Flow and Dynamic Flow are the energising classes, building strength and balance through breath-led movement. Nurturing Flow and Yin slow things down, with longer holds that help you tune into alignment and sensation.
Alongside the yoga sits Pilates, along with Strength Flow, which uses light weights to build control and tone while staying grounded in the breath. Sculpt is the most intense option on the timetable, a 45-minute full-body session with cardio intervals set to an uplifting playlist.
How the week runs
About half of the classes start in the morning, and the earliest begins at 7am. Evenings carry about a third of the week, running up to 7pm. Weekend classes make up about a fifth of the timetable.
Most classes last 60 minutes. The Yoga Edge's facilitators, among them Tom Hamilton, Sally Connor, Charlotte Taylor, Niki Püspöki and Nathalie Websdale, bring their own approach to each class, so the same practice can feel quite different from one facilitator to the next.

Is The Yoga Edge good for beginners?
Several classes are marked for all levels, and a fair number of others are labeled for more experienced practitioners, so it helps to read each class description first. The Yoga Edge's Nurturing Flow is slower and more spacious, and its Yin class is held in long, floor-based poses. Both suit a first visit well.
