What is taught at TripSpace
Most classes at TripSpace are yoga, and vinyasa is the style that appears most often. Flow classes link breath and movement through one continuous sequence, and many of them run 60 minutes. Alongside these, the timetable offers yin, hatha flow, mat pilates, a physio-led class that changes its focus each month, and sessions that add crystal singing bowls or gong to the practice.
The classes are led by dozens of facilitators, so the sequencing and tone vary from one teacher to the next. Some sessions are marked for all levels, and a few are set aside for a first class ever.
How the week runs
The timetable is weighted toward the morning and evening. Roughly half of the classes start before noon, and about a third fall in the evening. Weekend classes make up a smaller share of the week. Start times cluster around 10:30am, 5:30pm, 6:45pm and 8pm, and the day begins as early as 7am.
TripSpace has a handful of studios and does not offer passes, so each class is booked on its own. The studio is at 339 Acton Mews in Shoreditch.
TripSpace: questions and answers
What kinds of classes does TripSpace run?
Most of the classes at TripSpace are yoga, with vinyasa leading the timetable and flow-based classes making up about half. Mat Pilates, yin, breathwork and sound bath classes also run, so there is room to try more than one style.
Is TripSpace suitable for beginners?
Yes. Several classes are marked for all levels, and a few are set up for a first class ever. The vinyasa and flow classes are linked through breath and movement, so a newcomer can start with the 60-minute options and build from there.
When do most people practice at TripSpace?
The day is busiest on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Most classes start in the morning, around 10:30am, or in the evening, with 5:30pm, 6:45pm and 8pm among the common start times. The earliest class starts at 7am and the latest at 8pm.
How long are the classes?
Many classes last 60 minutes, which is the usual length here. Some run 45 minutes, like mat Pilates, and others run 75 or 90 minutes, such as the longer vinyasa flow sessions.
Who leads the classes?
Tifanny Hamilton-Atkins, Julia Metzges, Vrynda Ramos, Roberto Rubalcava and Maria Sousa are among the facilitators with the most classes on the timetable. Alice Trow, Alice Panascia, Jayne Miller, Elisa Blasi and Richard Chappel also teach regularly.
