In TripSpace’s words

Yin yoga uses long-held relaxed floor postures to stimulate, stretch and nourish body and mind - in particular, the deep, connective tissues of the body. It is a quiet, yet profound practice and derives from theories contained in Chinese medicine and Taoism. These theories have parallels with other yoga traditions. The aim of yin yoga is to create a free-flow of energy (‘chi’ or, in Indian yoga tradition, ‘prana’) through the body. The body’s deep tissues carry most of our fluid systems and by stimulating them and creating spaciousness around them with sustained yoga postures we improve the function of all our fundamental systems. Gradual and sustained lengthening throughout the body's joints and tissues improves the circulation, respiration, detoxification and benefits both mobility and agility. Yin practice focuses on ‘stillness’ in holding poses to achieve these physical benefits but also invites the mind to ease and tune-in with deeper awareness to the subtle shifts of energy experienced as the body tissues release. This can be a very rewarding and energizing process! * in order to receive the full benefits of the sound healing, we recommend attending this class in person as we cannot guarantee the quality of the sound online. ***Please note: Booking window for Online classes closes 30 minutes before class starts.
