Pilates and strength at the core
Most of what happens at CorePlus Knox is Pilates, and the emphasis falls on core and pelvic floor training. Reformer classes are a large part of the timetable, and they come in several forms: classic reformer, reformer strength, and reformer strength with a jumpboard. Mat-based work is also offered, from hot mat Pilates to warm form Pilates, so the studio covers both equipment and floor work.
For yoga, the studio offers hot yoga and warm yoga, with warm yin yoga for a slower, longer practice. Strength and sweat classes sit alongside these, with hot strength, hot strength cardio and reformer strength all part of the regular mix.
The shape of the week
The studio has a strong early rhythm. More than half of its classes fall in the morning, and about a third start before 9am. Monday, Wednesday and Friday carry the most classes, and 6am is the earliest start of the day. Evening classes are steady as well, and the last class of the day begins at 7:30pm.
Classes usually run for 45 minutes, which makes it easy to fit a practice into a busy morning or an after-work hour. Warm yin yoga is the longer option at 60 minutes.
