What the studio practices
The studio is built around Pilates. Reformer Pilates is the most common format, and core and pelvic floor classes are almost as prominent. Strong-energy sessions make up a large share of the timetable, which gives the week a steady, focused character.
A smaller set of classes goes in a gentler direction. Restorative sessions, like Restore, and yoga classes each make up about one in ten of what is on offer. Boxfit and MMA appear too, both short 30-minute classes.
How the week runs
Classes start as early as 5:25am, and more than half of them begin in the morning. Around a third begin before 9am, which makes this a studio that works well before the day gets going. Evening sessions make up about a third of the timetable, with the latest start at 7pm.
Weekends are quieter, with about a fifth of classes falling on Saturday or Sunday. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are the busiest days. Classes run no midday sessions, so the timetable clusters at the edges of the working day.
MC Fitness: questions and answers
What kinds of classes does MC Fitness offer?
Most classes at MC Fitness are Pilates, with reformer Pilates leading and a steady share of core and pelvic floor work. The studio also offers a smaller number of restorative and yoga classes.
When do most people practice at MC Fitness?
Most classes run in the morning, and more than half of the studio's sessions start before noon. Some begin as early as 5:25am, and the busiest start times are 5:25am, 6:10am, 6:15pm and 7pm. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays see the most classes.
How long are the classes?
Most classes are 45 minutes long, though some, like boxfit, MMA and the inbody scan, run for 30 minutes. Shorter sessions suit a busy morning or a quick evening practice.
Where should a newcomer start?
Reformer Pilates, Restore and the strength-focused Pilates sessions are good places to begin, since they are the most common formats here. Restore is a 45-minute restorative class that moves at a gentler pace than the reformer work.
Does MC Fitness suit people who prefer a slower practice?
Mostly yes. The studio's classes are weighted toward Pilates, reformer work and strength, so the format and pace may suit people who want structured, equipment-based practice. About one in ten classes are restorative or yoga, which offer a slower option.
