Pilates on the reformer and beyond

The studio's timetable is built around pilates, with almost every class a pilates class of some kind. The reformer leads the offering, and Reformer Open Level, Reformer 2 Intermediate, Advanced Reformer and the combined Reformer & Mat classes show how the work moves from the basics to more demanding technique. Strength, balance and core work run through many of the classes.

The cadillac and vertical frame, the pilates chair and the total barre class add variety to the reformer schedule. They give the work a different feel while keeping the same focus on control and alignment.

Who the classes suit

Most classes are open to people with some experience, and the pilates 55+ class is designed for active adults from 55 who want to move with gentle, controlled strength. The reformer level classes are arranged so that each step builds on the one before. Facilitators such as Selina, Michaela, Caroline and Ute lead many of the classes, and the people who practice here find a steady rhythm across the morning and evening schedule.

The classes run for 55 minutes each, and most of the week's sessions take place in the morning and evening.
