Yoga, Pilates and movement

Yoga is the core of the program at studio roots, with Hatha, Hatha Flow and Yin among the styles on offer. Hatha Flow classes move through connected sequences that build strength and steadiness, while Yin Yoga holds longer, quieter postures. Yoga Sanft is a gentle option for slower movement.

Pilates is the second strand. Classes include Pilates with small equipment such as the roll, ring and ball, Yoga Meets Pilates, and the full-body Power Sculpt, which combines Pilates with functional strength work.

How the week runs

Classes start early, with a first class at 7:30am, and continue into the evening, with the latest start at 7:30pm. A good share of classes fall before 9am, and the busiest start times are 7:30pm, 9am, 7:30am and 7pm. Thursday, Wednesday and Monday see the most classes.

Many of the Yoga and meditation classes run 75 minutes, and the Hatha Flow classes run 60 minutes. The facilitators with the most classes are Kirsten, Valentina, Maria and Leoni, among others, and the studio has about ten facilitators in total.

Events and workshops

Beyond the regular classes, the studio offers sound baths, full moon and new moon ceremonies, breathwork, Ecstatic Dance and yoga brunches, along with ayurveda workshops and creative movement classes. Massages are also offered in a quiet setting.
