The Ritual is a studio in Westlake Village, and it builds its week around strong, structured practice. Strength and strong flow make up much of the schedule, with pilates, core and pelvic floor work, and a smaller set of yin, restorative and yoga nidra classes alongside. Mornings are its busiest stretch, and many classes begin before 9am.

The style of practice
The Ritual leans toward movement with a clear effort to it. Strong classes account for about a third of the schedule, and strength work follows. Pilates, core and pelvic floor classes, and floor barre, add a more precise kind of training.
Yoga is present as well, through flow, free flow and guided flow classes. Yin, restorative and yoga nidra sessions give a slower counterpoint, so the week offers both demanding and restful options.
How the week runs
The day starts early here. Classes begin as early as 7:15am, and the busiest start times fall at 7:15am, 8:30am, 9:45am and 11am. Mornings carry more than half the week, and a good number of classes start before 9am.
Evenings are quieter but still present, with classes running as late as 8pm. Weekend classes make up about a fifth of the schedule. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday see the most classes.
The Ritual: questions and answers
What kinds of classes does The Ritual offer?
Yes, the classes here cover a wide range of practices. Most of the schedule is strong and strength-led, with pilates, yoga, flow, and core and pelvic floor work. Yin, restorative yoga and yoga nidra appear less often, and ashtanga is there too.
When do most people practice at The Ritual?
Most classes start in the morning, and more than half of the schedule falls before noon. A good number of sessions begin before 9am, with 7:15am as the earliest start. Evening classes run until 8pm, and weekend classes make up about a fifth of the week.
Who leads the classes?
Yes. Several facilitators teach a steady rotation here, and the names that appear most often include Andrea Torphy, Alexis Rojas, Doug Milliron and Alexia Paredes. The studio draws on a couple of dozen facilitators across its classes.
How long are the classes, and are there levels?
Most classes run 60 minutes, and a few longer ashtanga sessions run 90 minutes. Levels are marked in the class names, including L2 versions of some flow and free flow classes, so newcomers can look for the standard sessions first.
Where is The Ritual?
