What the studio offers

Yoga is the largest category, with about a third of the classes given to it. Flow classes, including vinyasa flow and flow and restore, make up a fifth. Pilates, core and pelvic floor work, and strong classes are each a smaller share, and the schedule also includes yin, restorative and flexibility-focused sessions.

The sound classes stand out. Gong and bowl sessions, sound baths and restorative yoga with sound appear alongside the movement classes, and a few meditation and breathwork classes round out the schedule. The longer hapé and breathwork ceremony runs three hours and is a different kind of session from the rest.

How the week runs

Mornings and evenings carry most of the schedule, with about a third of classes in each. Around a fifth start before 9am, and weekend sessions make up about a fifth of the total. Tuesdays, Sundays and Thursdays are the busiest days.

The studio has around ten facilitators, and the most active among them lead a steady mix of classes across the week. Class lengths are mostly an hour, with a few running longer, so it is easy to fit a session around a working day.

Ziaya’s: questions and answers

Where is Ziaya's located?

Ziaya's is listed with a Visalia address, 801 East Main Street, rather than in Ojai, so check that the location suits you before planning a visit. The classes on offer include yoga, Pilates, meditation, breathwork and sound sessions.

What kinds of classes are most common?

Yoga is the most common practice here, followed by flow classes. Pilates, core and pelvic floor work, and gong and bowl sound sessions also appear regularly. Restorative and yin classes make up a smaller part of the schedule.

What time do classes usually start and how long do they last?

Most classes run an hour, and a few are longer, like kundalini yoga at 75 minutes. Sessions start as early as 5:15am and as late as 7:30pm, with the busiest start times around 6pm, 4pm, 6:30am and 7am.

Which classes are good for people who want a gentler pace?

Many of the classes suit people who want slow, grounding movement, such as restorative yoga with sound or yin. Pilates and core classes focus on strength and control. Those who want something more physical can try a vinyasa or strong class.

Who leads the classes?

Jenni, Ziah, Bryanna, Siella, Jessica, Tencha, Maria, Ariana and Stephanie lead the most classes here. Across the studio, about ten facilitators teach the full range of practices.
