A gyrotonic studio in Faubourg-Montmartre

Center uma gyrotonic is a studio in the Faubourg-Montmartre neighborhood, on Rue Saulnier in Paris. The practice here is gyrotonic, a method built around flowing, circular movement that works on flexibility, coordination, relaxation and strength. The studio runs dozens of classes, led by a team of about ten facilitators.

The classes are grouped by level. Niveau 1 explores the foundations, Niveau 1&2 and Niveau 2 bring in more dynamic work on strength, flexibility and coordination, and the intensive class tests stamina and technique. Some classes are shaped for specific people, such as professional dancers, dancers in training and amateur dancers who want to explore movement in a different way.

How the week runs

Classes are spread across the day. About a third take place in the morning, about a third at midday and about a fifth in the evening, with a few starting before 9am. Weekend classes make up about a fifth of the timetable. The busiest days are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and most people practice around 10am, 6:30pm or 7:30pm.

Most classes focus on flexibility, and many also work on mobility and stretch, the core and the pelvic floor. Strength and joint mobility appear in a smaller share of the classes. The studio does not offer class passes, so each class is booked on its own.
