How the week runs
Most of the classes at LightUU start between 10am and 11am, and nearly all of the week's practice falls in the morning. Saturday, Sunday and Friday are the busiest days, and more than half of the classes run on the weekend. The studio does not run classes in the middle of the day or in the evening.
Classes typically last 75 minutes. A meditation session runs longer, closer to two hours, and a Zumba class is shorter at an hour.
What to expect in a class
The studio's classes are a mix of gentle sessions, hatha yoga, meditation and yoga. Each of these makes up about a third of what is offered, so a visitor can choose between a movement class, a longer quiet sit and a more traditional hatha session.
LightUU is a small studio, with a handful of facilitators and about ten classes in the period covered. Jenna Carroll, Joy Chapin and Stephanie Perez-Barajas lead the most classes.
