Uluwatu's weekend mornings are a steady run of yoga classes on Saturdays and Sundays, most of them starting early and lasting about an hour. The practice is calm and unhurried, with plenty of slow flow and gentle sequences alongside stronger vinyasa and power yoga. What the mornings are like

Nearly all of these classes are yoga, and the range is broad. Gentle Flow and Somatic Gentle Flow are soft and meditative, linking simple postures with conscious breathing and gentle spinal movement. Slow Flow asks you to find space between the poses while keeping a gentle rhythm. Vinyasa and Power Yoga are more vigorous, with continuous sequences that build strength, balance and stamina.

Most classes are open to all levels, and many include modifications so that a first class and a more experienced practice can share the same room.

Where and when to practice

Most classes run before 10am, and the busiest start times are 9:30am, 10am, 8am and 7:30am. Most sessions last 60 minutes, while the slower flows often run to 75. Saturday and Sunday are the days when the schedule is fullest.

The Space Bali Yoga & Co-working Uluwatu in Bingin hosts most of these classes, with about ten facilitators leading across the weekend. Leila Kushkha, Brigita Bonnier and Mariana Ávila teach among the most sessions, and Sylvia, Brian Benarivo and Thaiane Garrido round out the group.

Weekend mornings: questions and answers

What kinds of classes are on weekend mornings?

Weekend mornings in Uluwatu are mostly yoga, and most of the classes are open to all levels. Nearly all of them run in the morning on Saturdays and Sundays. Most start between 7:30am and 10am, and they usually last an hour.

Are these classes good for beginners?

Yes, many of the classes are built for people who are new to yoga. Gentle Flow and Somatic Gentle Flow move slowly and give plenty of space to breathe and feel the body. Vinyasa classes include modifications for every level, so a first class can stay easy while the rest of the room moves more.

Where do weekend morning classes take place?

The classes cluster at The Space Bali Yoga & Co-working Uluwatu in Bingin, where most of the weekend morning practice takes place. Dozens of classes are spread across a handful of studios in the area, so Bingin is the neighborhood to start with.

What time do most weekend morning classes start?

Most classes start between 9:30am and 10am, with 8am and 7:30am also popular. Early starts are common, so people who want to practice before the day gets busy tend to choose the 7:30am and 8am slots.

How do I choose between a gentle class and a strong one?

Many classes are gentle and slow, with flow, calm and balance as common themes. Others, like Power Yoga and Vinyasa, build strength and stamina through steady, dynamic sequences. Choosing between them depends on whether you want to wake up slowly or move with more energy.
