frei:zeit is a studio in Mödling, a short ride from Vienna, where most of the week is given to strength and conditioning. The sessions use body weight alongside kettlebells, medicine balls and resistance bands, and the studio also offers yin yoga and gentler bodycare classes. It suits people who want structured training with a coach across the day, with most classes in the evening.

Strength and conditioning at frei:zeit
The strength classes add dumbbells, medicine balls and kettlebells to exercises that use your own body weight. Strength cycle sessions are classic upper body circuits, while banded strength uses resistance bands to build muscle and joint stability. Stability classes focus on the core, and the coordination and deep stabilization training works on how the nervous system and the small muscles near the joints work together.
Yoga, yin and bodycare
The yin yoga classes run 70 minutes and hold poses for several minutes at a time, so the work is quiet and deep. Yoga nidra is offered as a special deep rest session. Bodycare classes combine long stretches, swinging movements, fascia work and sensorimotor exercises, and cardio at level 1 is a steady, beginner-friendly option for building stamina.
frei:zeit: questions and answers
What kind of classes does frei:zeit offer?
Most of frei:zeit's classes are strength and conditioning sessions, with a smaller set of yoga, yin and bodycare classes alongside them. The studio is a good fit if you want structured training with a coach rather than a purely meditative practice.
When do most people practice at frei:zeit?
Most classes run in the evening, with the 5pm, 6pm and 7pm starts among the busiest. Early risers can find sessions from 6:30am, and the latest class starts at 8pm. Weekends are a small part of the schedule.
Is frei:zeit suitable for beginners?
Yes. The cardio (level 1) class is designed for beginners and people returning to exercise, and the bodycare and yin yoga sessions are gentler options. Strength and cardio classes scale with your own body weight, so you can start where you are.
How long are the classes at frei:zeit?
A yin yoga class runs 70 minutes, and most of the other classes run 50 minutes. Yin holds poses passively for several minutes at a time, which makes it a slow, quiet session compared with the strength and conditioning classes.
Where is frei:zeit and what is it like?
The studio is at Badstraße 25 in Mödling, just outside Vienna. Its classes lean toward strength, conditioning and mobility, led by a small team of facilitators, with Jürgen and Karin among those who teach the most classes.
