Its practice is built around the reformer, a spring-based machine that supports and challenges the body through controlled, repeated movement. The timetable is full, and classes range from gentle sessions to dynamic ones, so the studio suits both people returning to training and people who are new to the equipment.

Reformer classes for every stage

The studio's classes cover a wide range. Beginner, Reform and Stretch build technique and flexibility on the reformer, while Power adds cardio, music and the jumpboard for a more energetic workout. Men Only offers a class for men focused on core strength and stability.

For people whose needs differ, there is Pregnant, a gentle reformer class for the pregnancy period, and Strong Mama, a postnatal series of seven sessions that rebuilds the core and pelvic floor step by step. Flow and Glow combines reformer work with facial cupping in a longer, slower session.

When the classes run

Most of the classes at Studio Seven run in the evening, and about a third fall in the morning. Weekend classes are fewer. The busiest days are Wednesday, Monday and Tuesday, and the most popular start times are 5pm, 6pm, 10am and 11am. Early classes begin at 6:30am, and the last start of the day is 8pm.

A first visit is simplest with the Intro class, which is taken once and introduces the equipment, the Pilates principles and the basic exercises before you join a regular class.

Studio Seven: questions and answers

When do most people practice at Studio Seven?

Studio Seven runs a wide Reformer Pilates timetable with classes at many hours of the day. Most of the week's classes fall in the evening, and a good share start in the morning. The busiest start times are 5pm, 6pm, 10am and 11am, and classes begin as early as 6:30am and run as late as 8pm.

Is there a class for someone who has never done Pilates before?

Yes. The Intro class is a single first session for people who have never trained on a reformer. It explains the equipment, the basic principles of Pilates and the core exercises, so a newcomer can start with confidence before moving on to the Beginner class.

Are there classes for pregnancy and after birth?

The studio offers a Pregnant class built on gentle reformer Pilates to keep the body strong and balanced, and a Strong Mama postnatal series of seven sessions that builds core strength and stability step by step. Both are designed around the reformer.

How long are the classes, and who leads them?

Most classes at Studio Seven last 50 minutes. The Strong Mama series and the Flow and Glow session run longer, at 60 and 120 minutes. Classes are taught by a team of about ten facilitators, including Birte, Sharon, Sonja, Annika and Vivien, who lead the most classes.
