In Sangita Yoga Studio’s words

Chaitanya Vinyasa Yoga was developed by Joaquin Gomez (@joayoga) as a response to the limitations observed in traditional Ashtanga sequencing. While Ashtanga follows set movement patterns within each series, Chaitanya Vinyasa expands this framework by working the entire body in every sequence, preventing overuse of specific joint structures and promoting greater overall balance. Inspired by the fluidity and creativity of Rocket Yoga but with a more comprehensive approach to joint longevity and mobility, this style offers practitioners a way to progress dynamically and safely towards advanced asanas without compromising their bodies. Key distinctions One of the key distinctions of Chaitanya Vinyasa Yoga is that it does not limit sequences to a single movement pattern (as seen in traditional Ashtanga series). Instead, it: • Engages the upper and lower body together in every session, ensuring well-rounded strength development. • Incorporates mobility principles that strengthen muscles and protect joints, enhancing movement efficiency. This approach prevents unconscious strain, reducing the likelihood of joint injuries, which are common in more rigid vinyasa-based systems. Mobility Unlike traditional Ashtanga and Rocket Yoga, which primarily rely on static flexibility and strength, Chaitanya Vinyasa integrates: • Active mobility movements to develop strength within flexibility. • Controlled range-of-motion exercises to enhance joint resilience and prevent hypermobility issues. • Stability movements that create balance in all ranges of motion. This ensures that practitioners are not just getting stronger and more flexible but also more functional and pain-free in their movement patterns.
