What the classes feel like
The late classes in this collection lean toward restorative and yin yoga. Many use props and long holds to ease the hips, joints and the rest of the body. Some add a sound bath, which gives the practice a quieter, more immersive feel.
The Slow Flow at MIMI RIEGER | YOGA starts with a grounded, slow movement that warms the body before it settles. The classes at Flow Yoga Center follow a similar path, moving from gentle flow into extended stillness.
Where and with whom
Flow Yoga Center and MIMI RIEGER | YOGA are the studios with the most classes in this collection. Both are in Shaw and Logan Circle, the neighborhood where these late classes gather.
A small group of facilitators, including Kristen Giles and Katie M., lead most of the sessions. Classes are taught in English and run for about an hour, so a late evening practice can fit easily after work.
