Calm after work in Berkshires
Calm after work in the Berkshires means evening classes that slow things down. Most of them are yoga, but the collection also leans toward sound baths, restorative and yin practice, and breathwork. The classes are gentle in pace and built for the end of the day, with a steady run of starts in the late afternoon and early evening.

What these evenings feel like
The classes gather around a feeling more than a style. Calm is in nearly all of them, and release in most. Yin & Restore at Berkshire Yoga Dance & Fitness is held in long, floor-based postures supported by props, so the body can let go of tension without effort. Relax & Clear moves from slow stretches and breath awareness into deep rest, and Sound Bath asks you to lie still while crystal and Tibetan singing bowls fill the room.
Alongside these, Mindful Flow gives a gentler, all-levels option with breath linked to movement, and Warm Slow Flow Vinyasa with Meditation at Studio 4 adds a longer, 75-minute practice that ends in meditation.
How the week runs
Almost all of these classes are in the evening, starting from 5:30pm onward, which makes them easy to reach straight after work. Most are an hour long. The studios are a handful in number, with Berkshire Yoga Dance & Fitness in Pittsfield leading the collection, and about ten facilitators share the classes, among them Nora Fenner, Mary Yarmosky, Evelyn Gonzalez, Althea Garivaltis, Vicky Ehrich, Jennifer Hughes and Corinne Vosburg.
Some of the classes fall on weekends, a little more than a fifth of the total. The rest of the week follows the same quiet pattern of evening starts.
