What is practiced here
The studio's program is built mostly around yoga, which makes up about a third of all classes. Power yoga sits beside gentler sessions, and yin and restorative classes allow longer holds. Alongside them you will find Pilates, strength, TRX and dance fitness, so the timetable moves between slow and demanding practices.
Several classes are chosen for a particular purpose. Back and core courses aim at strength and mobility, and the yoga and sound class combines flowing sequences with the resonance of singing bowls over 85 minutes.
How the week is shaped
Classes run on weekday mornings from 7:30am and continue through the evening until 8pm. Most of the week falls on mornings and evenings, and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are the busiest days. Weekend classes are fewer, and the studio's courses are typically 55 minutes long.
Many classes are taught in German, and the studio works with a couple of dozen facilitators, so you will meet different voices across the week.
zebraherz: questions and answers
How long are the classes and when do they start?
Yes. Most classes run for 55 minutes, and the longer sessions are the yoga and sound class and yin yoga, each 85 minutes. Starts range from 7:30am in the morning to 8pm in the evening, and the busiest start times fall in the early evening, around 5pm to 7pm, with 9:30am also drawing many people.
What kinds of classes does zebraherz offer?
Yoga is the most common practice here, making up about a third of the classes. Alongside it you will find Pilates, strength, power yoga, yin, and courses for the back and core, as well as dance fitness and TRX. Some classes are built around a feeling rather than a style, such as calm, focus or joy, and a few are designed for mothers with babies.
Is zebraherz a good place to start if I am new to yoga or Pilates?
Yes. Several classes are shaped for beginners and for people returning to movement, including all-levels sessions and a yoga course focused on technique that suits both newcomers and people who have practiced for a while. The back course, RückenFit, is a health-insurance certified program designed for prevention, and the mother and baby classes adapt to how each participant feels that day.
Who leads the classes at zebraherz?
Classes are taught by a couple of dozen facilitators. Henrike, Sabrina, Miriam, Michaela B, Katja, Silja, Eva, Peony, Basti and Eva V. lead the most classes.
